This FREE event will feature Free Lunch (hotdogs, chips, water) for participants, Lucky Bobber Door Prizes, Awards with prizes for winners, a bike raffle and each participant will receive a fun goody bag.... all presented by your friends with the City of Elizabethtown!
Kids Fishing Derby

This fun derby is designed for kids under 16. That said, it is a family-friendly event, so parents and older siblings are welcome to help with things like baiting hooks, casting and netting fish. Only the Fishing Derby kiddos will be eligible for prizes.
Though we will not be providing poles and bait for this event, Freeman Lake Park does have a very small supply of youth fishing sets available through the "Your Gear is Here" program available at the park office. Those are limited and first-come, first-served. Families should plan to bring their own fishing gear.
Since this is a catch-and-release derby, the City will not be enforcing the City Fishing Permits for this event. However, Kentucky State law requires anyone ate 16 and older, who is fishing (or actively helping a child fish) to have a valid Kentucky State Fishing License.
