Engineering Department
The Engineering Department is responsible for ensuring the quality of design and construction of new public infrastructure including City streets, sanitary sewer and sidewalks. Our department also confirms all new infrastructure fulfills the fire protection specifications of the City. The Engineering Department reviews improvement plans for new infrastructure before construction, performs inspections throughout the construction phase and approves the new construction upon completion.

Call the Engineering Department at 270-765-7873 for help locating one.
Review the Encroachment Permit Checklist and fill out the Encroachment Permit from the City.
There are several types of easements including utility, drainage and sidewalk. The City will not allow permanent structures to be built in an existing easement. To find out where the easements are located file an Open Records Request Form with the City Clerk, who is located on the third floor of City Hall.
The sewer connection fee is $300. Buildings that have multiple business tenants must pay individual connection fees.
