The City of Elizabethtown has developed plans for the construction of the Buffalo Lake Trail – Phase 1 bounded by East Dixie Avenue and Commerce Drive to span 1.3 miles.
Plans call for demolition and clearing of the site, earthwork for the site based on the grading plan, two bridge structures (across Buffalo Creek and across Valley Creek), site utilities, site amenities and furniture, wayfinding signage, plantings, a meadow, and construction of a retaining wall along approaches of the Buffalo Creek bridge.
The Project will be constructed in one (1) contract, which is outlined in the construction documents and specifications. The contract documents may be examined at the City of Elizabethtown, City Hall, 200 West Dixie Avenue, Elizabethtown, KY 42701 – (270) 765-6121.

A pre-bid meeting will be held at 10:00 am. (local time) on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at Elizabethtown Tourism and Convention Bureau located at 1030 North Mulberry Street, Elizabethtown, KY.
Sealed bids will be received by the City of Elizabethtown at the Elizabethtown City Hall, City Clerk’s Office, until 10:00 am. (local time) on Thursday September 07, 2023, and then opened and publicly read aloud in the City Council Chambers, City Hall. Any bids received after this time will not be read. Bids shall be plainly marked “Buffalo Lake Trail Project” on the front of the envelope.
The City of Elizabethtown reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids, to waive any irregularities or informalities, and to accept the bid that is deemed to be the best evaluated bid in the interest of the City.
