The City of Elizabethtown will hold a public hearing to receive citizens’ comments on the expenditure of federal funding that is estimated at $200,000 for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) 2023-24 Program Year. This will allow for input and comments on the use of funding for community development and revitalization efforts through proposed activities for the upcoming program year. Additionally, the City would like to receive input from citizens on a substantial amendment of the 2016-17 and 2017-18 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Action Plans as well as the 2019-2021 CAPER report information. The proposed amendment would shift remaining CDBG funds from property acquisition and design service activities as needed for the continuation of public infrastructure activities. The anticipated improvements will include a sidewalk/trail connection from Haycraft Neighborhood toward East Dixie Avenue, providing new and improved pedestrian and bicycle access in/out and thru the targeted neighborhood toward the downtown square area.
The public hearing will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at 4 PM in the City Council Chambers which is located within City Hall; 200 West Dixie Avenue; Elizabethtown, KY. The building is accessible for individuals with disabilities. If an interpreter and/or other accommodations are needed, please contact the City of Elizabethtown (Department of Planning & Development) at 270.982.3264 prior to the meeting. These documents will also be available online at https://elizabethtownky.org/planning-development-department/ for a thirty-day public review and comment period which will run from February 16 thru March 17, 2023.
