JOB TITLE: Pool Front Desk Attendant CLASS: 51 – Seasonal
DEPARTMENT: Parks and Recreation
LOCATION: American Legion Park
REPORTS TO: Waterpark Manager and American Legion Park Manager
POSITION OVERVIEW
Pool Front Desk Attendants serve as the primary point of contact for guests at the American Legion Waterpark and play a key support role in daily facility operations. This position goes beyond traditional cashier duties and requires flexibility, strong customer service skills, and the ability to assist in multiple areas throughout the waterpark.
Front Desk Attendants are responsible for front desk and cashier operations, supporting pool deck safety, assisting with slide operations, and helping maintain a clean and organized facility. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with people, can adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment, and work well as part of a team.
The waterpark operates seven days a week, and this position requires availability for weekends, evenings, and holidays throughout the season.
Examples of Duties
- Greet patrons and serve as the first point of contact when guests arrive at the facility
- Operate the front desk and cashier stations, including handling cash, processing payments, and using a POS system
- Answer phones and provide accurate information regarding admissions, programs, and facility policies
- Assist with monitoring patrons on the pool deck and supporting overall facility safety
- Operate the top of water slides as assigned
- Communicate clearly with Lifeguards and management regarding patron concerns, safety issues, or rule enforcement
- Assist with basic security functions, including monitoring access points and observing guest behavior
- Perform routine cleaning and custodial duties throughout the facility, including restrooms, pavilion areas, food court spaces, pool deck, and surrounding grounds
- Assist with party room rentals and special events as needed
- Provide friendly, professional customer service while helping create a positive experience for all guests
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be 15 years of age or older
- Prior experience handling cash and working with money is preferred
- Customer service experience is preferred
- Experience using a Point of Sale (POS) system is preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-traffic environment
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with the public
- Ability to think quickly, adapt to changing situations, and work effectively as part of a team
- Willingness to assist in a variety of roles throughout the waterpark as needed
Additional Information
- This is a seasonal position based at the American Legion Waterpark
- Weekend, evening, and holiday availability is required
- Training will be provided for all assigned duties
