SUMMARY:Historic Preservation Commission
DESCRIPTION:The purpose of the Historic Preservation Commission is to effect and accomplish the preservation\, protection and use of the Historic District and individual landmarks\, which have a special character and historic\, architectural and cultural value to the City. The Commission promotes the educational\, cultural and economic aspects of the community’s historic buildings and safeguards the City’s history and heritage. The Historic Preservation Commission stabilizes and improves property values in the district and in the City\, as a whole. The Commission also fosters civic pride in the value of notable accomplishments of the past and protects and enhances the City’s attractions to residents and visitor. DESCRIPTION:The Code Enforcement Board supports the City’s program to protect\, promote and improve the health\, safety and welfare of the citizens residing in Elizabethtown. The board conducts hearings on the enforcement of a variety of City ordinances to gain and assuring that the enforcement of the ordinances by the City administrative staff is fair.
