Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the City of Elizabethtown has canceled the 2020 Cruisin’ the Heartland event that was scheduled for August 1st.
“It is with heavy hearts that we must make this decision,” said Sarah Vaughn, City Events Program Manager. “Even if the Governor were to open up all restrictions in time, we just can’t come off of a pandemic like this and invite thousands of people to our downtown. The same demographic being victimized from this virus, is the demographic that we target to bring their vehicles and their families to this event. We know this is the best decision. We consulted with our partners in the local car clubs and they are in support of this decision. We’re all just hoping for a great 2021 to make up for the loss to our patrons and our businesses that benefit.”
The City of Elizabethtown’s Events Program will be releasing decisions as they’re made regarding all City events including State Theater concerts. For more information, go to www.etownevents.com or check the Elizabethtown City Events Facebook page. The Events Program, which operates out of the Historic State Theater, will continue to be closed to the public until June 1.
