Art in the Arboretum is for any individual with special needs and one family member or friend.
This is a free activity, but pre-registration is required.
Limited slots are available.
Make sure to wear old clothes we will be using paints and glue for many of the activities and they may stain.
Dates and Art Activities are listed below:
June 9th Bug and Butterfly Magnets: We will make magnets in the shape of different bugs and butterflies. Using small pieces of different materials to work on fine motor and dexterity skills.
June 16th Classic Still Life Drawing: Participants will draw a flora arrangement from the Arboretum with colored pencils, charcoal or chalk.
July 8th Fossil Adventure: Walk through the Arboretum on the lookout for curious items. Press them into the clay to create your very own fossil! The clay can be molded and painted if preferred.
July 14th Ice Cube Water Colors: Water colors will be mixed and frozen into ice cubes. As the ice cubes melt, they become the paint brush. Use the ice cubes to paint a sky or landscape in a race against time. Can you finish before all the ice cubes melt?!
