CHARACTERISTICS OF THE JOB:
This is a responsible position serving as the administrative assistant to the Director of the Greater Hardin County Narcotics Task Force. This position is responsible for data entry of case information, serving as the agency receptionist, perform all clerical work associated with typing, filing, organizing, and maintaining agency records, preparing purchase orders as prescribed by the Task Force Director.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Assist the Director with budget management; receive invoices, prepare purchase orders and assign purchases to the correct budget accounts. Maintain inner-department accounting procedures, maintain reports covering police activities, assemble crime reports and statistical data, input data into computer system, reproduce and distribute various police reports. Respond to requests from the public for information. Prepare and send correspondence for the Director. Perform other work as assigned.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- High school graduate or GED equivalent, including experience in general typing, accounting procedures, computers, clerical work.
- Able to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing.
- Able to follow written and oral directions and instructions.
- Physically capable of performing essential job functions.
- Drug-free, neat in appearance, high moral character and not convicted of a felony.
- Knowledge and understanding of laws, ordinances, departmental policies, rules and instructions.
- Maintain confidentiality of records.
