The American Legion Park is home to the City of Elizabethtown's swimming pool, the Funtopia Community Playground, Nine-Hole Par-3 golf course and 4 tennis courts along with a large shelter. A large pavilion is also available and used by organizations and private parties in conjunction with the swimming pool or Funtopia. There is no charge for the pavilion and is on a first come basis. No reservations are taken.

American Legion City Park Swimming Pool

At the beginning of the pool season, ALP Pool will not open on weekdays until Elizabethtown Independent Schools are out for the summer. 
At the end of the pool season, when Elizabethtown Independent Schools are in session, the facility will ONLY be open for weekend hours with the last day being Labor Day. 
Our facility features a new pool that is handicap accessible with two water slides, rock climbing wall, play structure, lazy river, all new pool house and a separate splash pad. The pool is open to the public with seasonal swim passes available for families or individuals, as well a daily admission. The pool can also be booked for organizations or public parties. The Elizabethtown Learn-to-Swim Program also offers swim lessons to children 6 months and older on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings and Monday evenings. The Funtopia Community Playground features swings, slides and other outdoor adventure equipment for ages 12 and under. Funtopia is accessible to special needs children. The ground cover is wheelchair accessible, as is the fire truck and ramping. A rubber bridge, playhouse, ship and seating with a stage all are accessible, in addition to tic-tac-toe and chimes.

Funtopia has two separate play areas: one for children 2-5 years of age and another for children 5-12 years of age. Adult supervision is recommended for school age children. All preschoolers are required to have adult supervision.

Our nine hole par 3 golf course is conveniently located in the city limits and is an inexpensive way to play golf in a gorgeous setting. The pro shop is open May through October. Yearly and monthly passes can be bought for the course at the Pritchard Community Center.

Sign- up and Block Party for Summer Programs will be on Saturday, May 25 at 10:30am at the Freeman Lake Tennis Complex. The Elizabethtown Tennis Commision officers and volunteers will provide tennnis demostrations, participation drills and prizes to win, followed by a Free Pizza Party. If unable to attend the Block Party activities, registration may be made at Pritchard Community Center from 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday.
